Location. The Hotel Giulio Cesare is located in Rome, Italy, within 500 metres of St Angelo Castle, 1 kilometre of Vatican City and 150 metres of Lepanto metro station.

Hotel Features. The Hotel Giulio Cesare is a former town house property in the residential Prati district. It is furnished in period style with marble fireplaces, some authentic Louis XVI pieces and oriental carpets. Hotel amenities include a 24 hour front desk, air conditioning, concierge services and complimentary newspapers.

The Hotel Giulio's sumptuous bar lounge serves a small lunch and dinner menu that can be enjoyed on the garden terrace, weather permitting. Guests wake up to a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning.

Aerobics, scooter rentals and swimming can all be located nearby the hotel.

Guestrooms. There are 90 guestrooms built over four floors, all of which have classic Italian decor with floor length drapes and crystal chandeliers. All rooms are equipped with minibars, satellite television, direct dial phones, safes and high speed Internet connections. The bathrooms are fitted with tubs and are complete with complimentary toiletries, hair dryers and makeup mirrors.

Expert Tip. Nearby Via del Corso is a great place to head for a huge variety of bargain leather goods. Get out there early though. This street is very popular and throngs with shoppers as the day wears on. For more upmarket goods, head to Via Borgognona, where international jet setters go to shop. Over the summer, the shops stay open late into the evening.

Driving Directions

From Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO):
Center. Distance to Hotel Giulio Cesare is 30 kilometres, approximately 40 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The Leonardo Express runs between the airport and the Termini train station in the city centre every 30 minutes. The journey time is about 35 minutes and single tickets cost 9.50 EUR. The Terravision shuttle bus runs between the airport and Termini station. Taxis to the city centre cost about 60 EUR, and taking a metered licensed taxi is advised. From the station, take A line on the metro to Lepanto station, 150 metres from the hotel. A single ticket costs 1 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Rome's historic city centre is easy to explore on foot, as many attractions are located close together. The city has an efficient public transport system, including trams, buses, suburban trains, and metro (underground). Tickets can be purchased from tobacconists and ATAC ticket machines, and should be bought prior to boarding. Single tickets cost 1 EUR, and are valid for 75 minutes, covering one metro trip and unlimited bus travel. Driving in the city centre is not advised for visitors.
