Location. Built in 1921, the splendid purpose built Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte has an excellent position by the sea and promenade in the resort town of Viareggio, 20 kilometres from Pisa. The Torre del Lago and Puccini's House are 10 kilometres away, and the typical Italian town of Lucca is 15 kilometres away. Pisa International Airport Galileo Galilei is 20 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.
Hotel Features. The hotel has an outdoor rooftop swimming pool overlooking the sea, and provides a range of spa services including a sauna and fitness equipment. The Piano Bar boasts a white grand piano, and the Panoramic Bar on the top floor offers with panoramic views. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk can offer the use of a safe deposit box; there is a concierge desk; and the air conditioned public areas have wireless Internet access.
The Grand Hotel's Restaurant Il Piccolo Principe serves regional dishes with the emphasis on seafood, in a relaxed setting with gentle lighting and background music, and the Grill Restaurant offers regional dishes on the terrace overlooking the sea.
Guestrooms. The 106 guestrooms, over five floors, have stylish reproduction furnishings, smart contemporary decor and balconies. Getting there. Taxis are available at the airport and the fare to the hotel is typically 100 EUR. Pisa airport has its own train station with direct trains to Pisa central station, Florence, Lucca and beyond. The best way to see the surrounding countryside is to hire a car.
