Location. The MarQueen Hotel is located in Seattle's colorful Queen Anne district, a residential neighborhood that offers sweeping views of downtown and Elliott Bay. The historic MarQueen is two blocks from the Seattle Center, home to museums, theaters, and the landmark Space Needle. The Seattle Center includes a monorail that departs every 10 minutes to downtown's Westlake Center shopping center.

Features. Built in 1918, the MarQueen's brick fa?ade hides a Neoclassical lobby with Grecian columns, terrazzo floors, Oriental rugs, mahogany wainscoting and decorative molding. The lobby's grand staircase rises in opposite directions to the property's upper floors. The MarQueen has no elevator; however, wheelchair accessible guestrooms are located on the first floor. Twice a week, the MarQueen holds evening wine receptions in the lobby. The hotel offers concierge services, room service, valet parking, meeting rooms, 24 hour front desk, pool table and fireplace. A complimentary downtown shuttle is available. A restaurant, bakery/espresso bar, spa and fitness center are on site.

Guestrooms. Prior to the hotel's renovation in 1998, the MarQueen served as luxury apartment rentals and still retains much of the original layout, with most guestrooms having separate bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens. Guestrooms feature high ceilings, hardwood floors, Queen Anne style furnishings, artwork, area rugs and live plants. Kitchens include refrigerators, minibars, microwave ovens, utensils and tables. Bathrooms have tile floors, shower/tub combinations and velour terrycloth robes. All guestrooms have complimentary high speed Internet access.

Expert Tip. The MarQueen was originally built in 1918 to house blacksmiths and mechanics working at the Ford assembly plant.
